Tyler James
Nashville, we've got something to talk about, and his name is Tyler James.

Tyler James, the 27-year-old Music City songsmith, is a staple on the local music scene, so you may have caught him behind the keys during his shows around town or on tour with his Ten Out of Tenn. Now it's time to really get to know Tyler by checking out his debut-full length album It Took The Fire.

We had the pleasure of having Tyler play songs from It Took The Fire at one of our Bluebird Cafe shows, with fellow TOT artists Trent Dabbs, ks Rhoads and Erin McCarley, during an amazing night of songs and stories with four of Music City's finest artists. And now we are honored to officially have Tyler as part of the Music City Unsigned community!

The soulfully poppy sounds of It Took the Fire, are currently spinning through my computer speakers, and brighting up an otherwise gloomy day outside. From the soulful horns, piano and organ on "All I Got", "It Took The Fire" and "Sweet Relief" to the infectious pop sounds of "Soapbox Shakedown", "Nothing Will Last", "Don't Leave" and "Stay Humble", Tyler's songs are a perfectly mellow mix of classic 70s, Memphis Soul and sweet pop music that I can listen to all day long. And that just may be my plan for today!

It Took The Fire was tracked in only four days with co-produer Neilson Hubbard at Nashville's House of David Studios. At the center of Tyler's songs is his amazing piano playing, and he had the honor of summoning some inspiration from Elvis by playing his piano on the album. Now that sure is an honor for any musician!

Tyler James' music is definitely something to talk about, and listen to and share with friends. And here's a great idea straight from Tyler himself "I still have hope that there are people out there who get together with friends, open up a bottle of wine and listen to records." Now that sounds like a plan to me!

Stay Humble,
-Johnny T
