The "jam session". So many great bands today owe their success to it. And countless classic hits are attributed to the simple act of musicians coming together to engage each other through song. What comes from a "jam" is often times nothing short of magic and can serve as a catalyst for young artists and their careers.
In the case of the folk/pop group, The Vespers, what started as a spontaneous musical get-together to write and possibly play a few shows together, has developed into a partnership so natural that it appears meant to be. Made up of two brothers (Bruno and Taylor Jones) and two sisters (Callie and Phoebe Cryar), The Vespers have brought together a variety of musical backgrounds to create a sound that very much exemplifies the spirit of Nashville. Callie and Phoebe's rich harmonies backed by Bruno and Taylor's solid rhythms make up a sweet, southern style collection of music reminiscent of Nickel Creek, Eisley, Leigh Nash and Iron and Wine.
The Vespers first studio album entitled, "Tell Your Mama" showcases the kind of talent rarely found in artists their age. They may still a very young band, but it's easy to see they are passionate about the music they are making and are eager to grow and learn.
Be on the look out for The Vespers. I expect this is only the beginning of what is already truly a special collaboration of musicians.
