Thad Cockrell
I love music. It does something to me that's unfair. It knows the corners I walk around, and when I'm least expecting a confrontation music throws its punches. Music confronts me. I grew up in church because my Dad was and is a preacher. Both my brothers are too. It's basically the family business. I suppose I'm preaching just the same. However, when I was young and sitting in my fourth Sunday service for the day (no easy proposition for a young boy with a chronic case of ants-in-the-pants) the music would start to play and the effect was profound.

Music has always had its hand around my throat. I started playing guitar when I was out of college because I finally realized it was indeed a possibility and that I was tortured without doing so. I haven't quit since then and I don't suppose I will anytime soon. I have recently moved to Nashville, where I have found many like-minded souls who believe there is still music to be made, songs to be written, and truth to be told.
