Korby Lenker was born to a mortician dad and a school marm in small-town southern Idaho.
He graduated from Western Washington University in 2001, and spent several years making Seattle his second home.
King of Hearts, Korby's 4th solo album, is a Pop-Americana pleaser marked with an unusual blend of careful country-ish songcraft and a go-anywhere rock ethos. Though he has solid grounding in bluegrass music (his band 'The Barbed Wire Cutters' were hailed by SPIN magazine as the 'young riders of the bluegrass revolt'), Korby is as comfortable programming beats or finessing his way through a well-phrased guitar solo. He's also been a Merlefest songwriting finalist (2005), performed at tastemaker festivals including Sasquatch and Bumbershoot, and has been privileged to share the stage with touring mainstays Nickel Creek, Sandi Thom, and Gabe Dixon. Within the last year Korby has opened for Ray Lamontagne, Keith Urban, Susan Tedeschi, and Kelly Joe Phelps.
