So, if you saw the flyers we put out this week... you would have expected our Bluebird show tonight to have featured two duos: This & That and The Family Tree. However, due to a surprise visit from the stomach bug (don't we all hate those), The Family Tree was out, and we had two hours to book someone to fill the gap and perform at the Bluebird tonight.
And who came along to save the day? Amy Stroup and Keith Cook! Johnny T somehow got on the phone with Amy as she was walking out of the studio today, and two hours later, she was singing her heart out to us. And oh, how happy we are to have Amy. Thank you!

Anyways... back to the show. The early show at the Bluebird is something to see, if you've never seen it before. More often than not, the songwriters featured are up and coming artists who don't have a huge fan base, and are just trying to get themselves out there. Nevertheless, it's always a great show. And for the artist, there's only good to come after playing at the Bluebird -- it seems to be the Nashville hot spot where many big names got their start.
Well, let's hope some starts were made tonight. This & That, also known as Lindsay and Eric, are a perfect pair. No, they're not "together," but they bring a chemistry to their music that melts the hearts of all who listen. Most of the songs performed tonight were from their newest release, "Farewell To The Sun," such as "Lullaby" and "Up in the Air." Their style of singing, the combination of Lindsay and Eric's angelic voices with soothing harmonies... everything they have to offer the world of music... well, let's just say, there's more to this duo than "this and that."

And as for Amy Stroup and Keith Cook, other than the fact that they totally came to the rescue, truly made the Bluebird show complete tonight. Amy is so positive, so happy, so full of life; you can't help but love her. She's up on the rise too, with songs featured on Private Practice and One Tree Hill, and a new LP just released July 5th on iTunes, entitled "The Other Side of Love | Session Two." She may just be a small town girl from Texas (which she, like any other Texan, will let you know right off the bat), but she's got a lot to offer, and so far has been hitting Nashville with full force; if you haven't seen her perform yet, make every effort to do so as soon as possible!
The combination of voices, melodies, harmonies, and guitars, the alternating of tear-jerkers with toe-tappers, and the atmosphere of the Bluebird, all rolled into two hours of music--there's nowhere I would have rather spent my Friday night.
Cheers,
Amanda Q
