Several years ago when I was living in NYC, I got to see a Will Hoge show at The Wetlands, and I have been a big fan ever since. He reminded me of the young Bruce Springsteen that I never got to experience live.
As most people know, Will had a bad scooter accident last year, and it's a miracle he is alive and well today. The next day Bruce Springsteen played Nashville. Outside the show, I met a friend of Will's who was holding his tickets and talked about his horrible accident. It was a bittersweet night in Music City.
Well, several months passed and I headed to the grand opening of Urban Outfitters with MCU artist (and Josh Hoge guitarist)
Trey Lockerbie to see Will back on stage where he belongs. It was a subdued sit-down performance for Nashville's resident rock and roller, but he looked and sounded great, and it was amazing to see him doing well and back performing where he belongs.
Now Will is REALLY back and he's doing a month-long residency every Wednesday in June at 12th & Porter. Billed as 'Will Hoge & Friends - Back To The Music - Four Nights of Celebration on June 3, 10, 17, 24 2009" and it promises to be an amazing run of shows from our very own hometown hero.
If you have never seen Will Hoge live you owe it to yourself to experience it. This guy is the real deal. A true rocker who never gives up and keeps making great music for his loyal fans.
I know this fan will be there with my arms in the air singing along!
Advance tickets for Will Hoge & Friends - Back To The Music can now be purchased online
here or directly from the 12th & Porter Box Office.
