It was a one of those great weeks when the overwhelming talent that resides in Nashville hits you straight in the face and you can't believe your ears. I'm talking about the Tin Pan South Songwriter Festival. I caught 10 shows in 5 nights and here are just a few fine festival moments I got to experience...

- Steven Curtis Chapman and Matthew West who kicked-off the week in an amazing Gospel Music Association show at the Rutledge.

- Country Music Hall of Famer Vince Gill wowing the crowd at Mercy Lounge.

- Hit songwriters Sarah Buxton & Dave Berg (they wrote "Stupid Boy" for Keith Urban), Aussie Jedd Hughes & Chuck Cannon rocking the Rutledge for 3 hours.

- Wayne Kirkpatrick and Gordon Kenndey (who wrote "Change the World" for Eric Clapton) playing an intimate set in the round at Douglas Corner.

- The Hitmen of Music Row entertaining a packed house at the Mercy Lounge.

- 80's rockers Jim Peterik (Survivor), Kip Winger, Kelly Keagy (Night Ranger) and Mark Slaughter turning back time and making the 80s alive again.

- Pop Hit maker Kara DioGuardi (Pink, Kelly Clarkson), Sacha Skarbek (who wrote "You're Beautiful" with James Blunt) and Dave Hodges (Evanescence, Daughtry, Kelly Clarkson) playing a hook-filled Saturday night show.

Last but not least was this little indie round Friday night at Mercy Lounge. Music City Unsigned packed the place and Matt Wertz, Gavin Mikhail, Matthew Perryman Jones & Jeremy Lister thoroughly entertained it. I may be biased but folks who aren't told me it was one amazing show...in one amazing week.
